FAQs

How many people can stay in the chalet?

We welcome up to six guests, including children. The chalet includes a master bedroom with queen-sized bed, two queen-sized beds in a second bedroom, and access to a single bed if needed. Traveling with a larger group? Ask us about booking rooms for additional guests at our neighbouring cottage resort.

Can I host a party or special event at the chalet?

We’d love to help you arrange a special event at the chalet. When you book with us, please discuss plans for any gatherings of more than eight people. A licensed multi-functional banquet hall and meeting centre are available for an additional charge.

What kind of payment methods do you accept?

We accept payments by cash, credit card and email money transfer. 

Is there parking available?

We have ample parking on site for your entire group.

How far is the chalet from the airport?

St. John’s International Airport is about a 45 minute drive from the chalet. We’ve included directions for you here.

Where can I purchase supplies and food for my stay?

The closest grocery store (Foodland in Bay Bulls) is a 15 minute drive, so make sure you stock up on your way out to stay with us. Dominion and Costco are located on Stavanger Drive, close to the airport.

How will I get into the chalet when I arrive?

We will be onsite to greet you, or will arrange ahead of time for you to get the keys when you arrive.

Do I need to bring towels and linens with me?

We provide towels and sheets. We do not provide beach towels, so please bring your own.

Does the chalet include any starter amenities?

Yes, we provide soap, shampoo and conditioner, a blow dryer, toilet paper, paper towels, and dish soap to get you started.

Do you provide daily cleaning service?

No. The house is cleaned prior to your arrival. No additional cleaning is done, however for guests staying longer than a week, we can arrange to have maid service weekly for an added charge.

Are there laundry facilities?

Yes, there are coin operated machines just a short walk away. We do not provide detergent, so please remember your loonies, quarters and detergent. We also have an iron and ironing board.

Do you allow pets?

Though we love pets, we have a no pet policy. Sorry!

Do you provide a scent-free environment?

In consideration of guests arriving after you, and our cleaning staff, we have made this a scent-free home. We do provide soaps from Saje, with hints of citrus, and by request they can be removed. We use eco-friendly cleaning products.

What is your smoking policy?

The chalet is a smoke-free home. Guests are permitted to smoke outside, but there are no exceptions for in house smoking of any kind; smoking inside will result in forfeiture of the security bond.

What does the security bond cover?

The $500 security bond is required in case of damage to the property or contents, or if any of the terms of the rental agreement cause monetary loss to us as owners of the property. This security bond is fully refundable as long as there is no damage or breach of contract.

Who do I call if there is a problem?

We will provide all contact information once you arrive at the chalet. The chalet’s manager will be available to help with your stay, and the owner lives just two minutes away.

Is there a quiet time in the neighbourhood?

Yes. The local community is quiet after 11 pm, so please move your socializing indoors and keep noise to a minimum late at night. After hours events, such as weddings, sometimes take place onsite, and on those nights the quiet time is extended.

What happens if I lock myself out of the chalet during my stay?

We will provide you with emergency contact information, and you will be given two keys for your stay. Please note that there will be a charge of $25 for each key that is lost or not returned to us on your departure.
